Local and National Union News |
June 2, 2010 Dear Members, I’d like to take this opportunity to announce that with the help of Local 2110, National AFGE, VA Council and VA management the recent decision to down grade Program Support staff across the U.S. has been rescinded. In fact, those employees that were down- graded as soon as the decision from OPM came out will now have to brought to their original grade. Here at VAPAHCS, I have been working closely with our HR Chief to ensure that no down-grades were done until it was absolutely necessary. Now that this will not happen I would like to request that anytime you have a question regarding your classification, grade or salary that you come to speak to us in the union offices before requesting a desk audit. It was because such a request was not done, that this down-grade decision was made by OPM. What some of you may not know, if a decision is appealed to the OPM it not only affects you but everyone in that same classification or grade across the country. Please feel free to contact us with any concern you have. Thank You, Lori Bess, LVN President AFGE 2110 |
